SPINE Festival library partners in Islington and Sutton have a range of activities for children, families and young people both online and in their local libraries and schools exploring the theme of Empathy. Included in the activities is a tour of ‘The CAT-Astrophic Adventures of Dollop and Crinkle<\/a>‘, a co-commissioned theatre show with Half Moon and poets Henry Madd and Kirk-Ann Roberts.<\/span><\/p>\n

This year Islington and Sutton boroughs are paired together to work with G\u00fcne\u015f G\u00fcven, facilitator for our six week ESOL <\/span>Open House programme<\/span><\/a> as part of SPINE Festival 2021. The programme will be delivered in partnership with local refugee organisations and centres in both Islington and Sutton.<\/span><\/p>\n

G\u00fcne\u015f G\u00fcven | Facilitator\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n

G\u00fcne\u015f G\u00fcven is an ESOL specialist with over ten years of experience in working with migrant communities across London both in an academic and cultural capacity. Cultivating connection driven sessions, Gunes explores the complexities of immigrant identity and journey. G\u00fcne\u015f has been developing and delivering the Open House Project as part of Spine Festival over the last 5 years in collaboration with Apples & Snakes across several London Boroughs. Her previous projects involve collaborations with Battersea Arts Centre, The Heritage Trust, LIFT, The Agency & Chelsea Football Club Foundation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When she\u2019s not busy juggling the above as well as motherhood, you can find her volunteering at food banks and DJ\u2019ing on radio or at local events.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
