Join Award winning British-Nigerian writer Yomi Sode for <em>Apples and Snakes: The Podcast.<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You probably have heard of our host, he is our regular at every Jawdance, and has been doing incredible work lately. Yomi has won critical acclaim for his works published by Penguin (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.penguin.co.uk\/authors\/286678\/yomi-sode\">Manorism<\/a>), is a Jerwood Compton Poetry Fellowship, shortlisted for The Brunel International African Poetry Prize 2021 and shortlisted for the T.S.Eliot Awards 2022. This is a very compressed acclamation of Yomi, because we&#8217;re here to talk about The Podcast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through conversations and performances from award-winning poets, rappers and artists such as Caleb Femi, Kat Fran\u00e7ois and Eklipse, Yomi will explore what it means to be Black, British and a poet or spoken word artist. From the history of spoken word, the the power and pull it has for expression and political movement, this Podcast is an expanding catalogue of what it&#8217;s like to be a Black poet in Britain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Podcast Series 3 \u2013 out now!<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Featuring: Shirley May, Roy McFarlane, Tolu Agbelusi, Ty\u2019rone Haughton, Roger Robinson, Anthony Joseph, PA Bitez, Joshua Idehen and Breis.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This season we are putting out even more episodes. To format is Yomi in conversation with only one guest, allowing us to get a little bit deeper. We\u2019ll be getting a greater insight into the journeys of some of your favourite Black British poets so hit play and sit back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We will be releasing an episode every other week and for the first half of this season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each episode goes deep into talking about poetry, journeys, moments that changed us and more.
