What inspires you?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The women in my life. The company of creatives. The desire to anger the aunties.<\/p>\n

Tell us about your worst ever gig?<\/strong><\/p>\n

It was a small audience. Person in the front row wouldn\u2019t stop yawning.\u00a0My hands were shaking. My words were blending.\u00a0I think I mixed two of my poems. I can\u2019t recall the actual performance.\u00a0I was on stage for less than two minutes.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your number one poetry pet peeve?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Not a pet peeve related to writing, but hooting during performances.\u00a0I love the mmms and snaps though.<\/p>\n

Whose words do you love at the moment?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I find myself going back to Mirza Ghalib\u2019s ghazals a lot recently.<\/p>\n

What piece of advice would you give to your younger self?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Have high standards. Be brave. Try everything. Give up on some things. There is food at home.\u00a0I am still working on them, especially the last one.<\/p>\n

What is your favourite strange food combinations?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I\u2019ll preface this by saying everything that\u2019s cool now was once considered weird.\u00a0Spicy maggi noodles with natural yoghurt.\u00a0Don\u2019t mix them. Have a spoonful of noodles, then a spoonful of yoghurt.\u00a0The perfect balance between hot and cool.<\/p>\n
