Alim is is part of SPINE Festival 2024<\/a>, along with an incredible team of poets they\u2019ll be leading workshops and arts activities for children in Libraries and schools across London this Spring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alim (means scholar), \u2018quiet extrovert’ <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What inspires you?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It can feel like inspiration comes out of thin air, but I know it\u2019s sparked by a galvanising combination of many elements: dreams, personal challenges, around the table conversations, something another artist shared with me, memories, something I\u2019ve read or learned. Maybe just maybe, something I share may even inspire someone to keep going. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tell us about your worst ever gig?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

First artist to arrive at an event, but got put on stage last when the venue lights on and people were leaving. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s your number one poetry pet peeve?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Cliches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whose words do you love at the moment?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

What piece of advice would you give to your younger self?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Put the work out there – there\u2019s an audience waiting beyond these four walls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How do you relate to the themes of magic & imagination?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

My power facilitates the transportation of people to other worlds. I live with magic and imagination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What do you enjoy most about working with children, families and libraries?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Their laughter, their \u2018aha!\u2019 moments, when I see in their faces that the impossible becomes possible, and witnessing a confidence shift within them. <\/p>\n\n\n
